For this week’s pop culture topic I will be discussing a television show and its actor and what are the thoughts of others. I know it may be on the outskirts of the targeted material but I believe that it is a relevant pop culture topic in today’s society. I know that there are many people, who enjoy it, but I don’t see how and I would like to express my reasons why.
First of all, popular culture is defined as the system of attitudes, behavior patterns, customs, tastes, and beliefs (Browne, 2005) .It also states that it is the entertainment, diversions, icons, rituals, and actions that shape a society’s everyday world (Browne, 2005) . This verifies that TV would follow under this category because it is a source of entertainment that shapes society and the world we live in, or at least in this country. For example, you have these reality shows with people being overweight, and to me that is wrong. As for sitcom television, it is a little different. The topic I want to talk about is the Show Two and a half Men starring, or used to star Charlie Sheen.
As you all know, Charlie Sheen is under the spotlight once again for his childish ways. He has been fired from the hit Show Two and a Half Men. He was the highest paid actor on T.V., but due to his previous stunts and remarks he is no more. Actually he doesn’t have an acting job at this point, and to be honest it will be pretty hard to find one. I like the guy as an actor, but he has some personal issues that need to be addressed ASAP. He’s on drugs, has porn stars hired as nannies to take care of his children, or they were until they were taken away. I think that this guy needs some serious help to get his life back on track. After that is completed, then he should worry about his acting career. He better do something fast thought, the last time that I read up on this, he pays over $100,000 in child support a month.
Again these are my own personal thoughts about the topic and I have been dying to get that off my chest. Please feel free to respond if you think the same or differently. Everyone has their own opinion.

I like Charlie Sheen as an actor, but I have to wonder...What the heck is going on with him??? It's kind of sad to see him this way, but he's not the only one. I recently saw a commercial advertising his new show and I just kept thinking...this guy is CRAZY!!! I can't wrap my mind around anyone giving him a show right now, but this kind of stuff is what sells, so I'm sure we will see him soon back on the screen!
